CVS and Walgreens Drugstore Shopping for 10/19/2014

Sunday, October 19th, 2014

image

Headed out super early to the drugstores this morning, since we are leaving soon to visit our oldest at college. He needs food reinforcements, warmer clothing, and other things from the house (and we all miss him terribly). It’s a long drive, but my DH bought me a jet-pack so I’ll be blogging for you from the road! Here’s what I bought, starting this time at CVS…

6 Combos, BOGO free at $2.67, $8.01. Used three $1.50/2 printable coupons, NLA
6 Hershey’s Halloween candy, $3.00 ea, $18.00. Used three $1.10/2 Hershey’s Snack Size Printable coupons and the $1/2 Hershey’s CVS Store coupon
CVS Extra Fiber Creamer, $9.99
abound Snack Bar, 0.99. Used  $1/1 Gold Emblem Abound Trail Mix, Cereal Bar or Nuts coupon

Total after coupons was $26.54 and I got $15 in ECB ($10 for the Creamer and $5 for the candy) so net cost $11.54 with a savings of $45.44. Also, I tried the Coke deal (bought 3 12pks and hoped for a $5 ECB), but the ECB didn’t print so I returned them! Off to Walgreens:

Transaction #1:
2 Vanity Fair Napkins, BOGO Free at $2.99. Used  0.25/1 Vanity Fair Napkins Printable coupon
MG217, $6.00. Used $1/1 MG217 Product Printable coupon
2 Level Bars, BOGO 50% off at $5.29, $7.93. Used the $4/1 Level coupon from the Diabetes & You book and $1/1 Walgreens coupon from the Diabetes care booklet
2 7-Up Band 2liters, $1.00 ea, $2.00. Used $2.00 off 2 participating 2 liters soda wyb 2 Mars candy
2 Mars Candy, $1.99 ea with in-store coupon. Used $1/2 Mars Snack size candy printable coupon

Total after coupons was $13.67 and I got back $6 in RR for the MG217 and 2650 BR points (2000 for the napkins, 300 for the MG217, and 350 for the Level). Net cost $5.02 with a savings of $31.48.

Transaction #1:
MG217, $6.00. Used $1/1 MG217 Product Printable coupon

Total after coupons was $5.11 and I paid with 5000 BR and 0.11 in change. Got back $6.00 RR for a net profit of 0.89 with a savings of $8.99.

Also I wanted to mention that I’ve been buying a lot of candy because my kids have birthdays coming. These snack bags don’t expire until July of 2015, so my plan is to put them away for the goody bags. It’s hard to find inexpensive snack size candy bars around Christmas time that aren’t red and green, so these are perfect! I’m also bringing some down to U of I today for our guy to share with his dorm friends.

Net cost for everything in the photo: $15.67 with a savings of $85.91 :-)

  • 0.30/2 Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits. Stack with the high value $1.50/3 Pillsbury Refrigerated Dough Target store coupon.

So how many papers? There’s just one insert and not that many coupons I’ll use, but I’ll probably get four. We do have a large family and I shop for 7! You can get the Sunday paper over at the Dollar Tree or Menards on Saturday mornings beginning around 9 am. Both stores sometimes limit 3 per person, so bring someone with you if you want to buy more than 3 papers.
