Meijer Was More Fun Than the Drugstores Shopping for 8/18/2013
Headed out to Meijer this morning to pick up some things for a special dinner tonight (our teen leaves for college on Tuesday), purchased separately. Thought I’d try out some of the new deals while I was there:
7 Energizer Advanced Lithium Batteries, $3.99 ea. $27.93. Used seven $3/1 from the 8/4 SS
4 Gillette Shave Gel, $1.99 ea, $7.96.
4 Satin Care Trial Size, $1.00 ea, $4.00. Used four $3/2 Gillette Shave Gel from the 8/11 RP
3 Satin Care Trial Size, $1.00 ea, $3.00. Used three $1/1 Gillette Shave gel from the 8/11 RP
2 Pantene Shampoo/Conditioner, $3.33 ea, $6.66. Used $3/2 from the 8/11 RP
2 Pantene Hair Spray, $3.33 ea, $6.66. Used $3/2 from the 8/4 RP
26 Kool-Aid Packets, 0.10 ea, $2.60
Meijer Sugar, Free with Kool-Aid purchase
4 Dr. Pepper Ten, $1.00 ea, $4.00. Used two BOGO Free printables, NLA
One of the Dr. Pepper coupons scanned in as $1.99, so bonus there! Total after coupons was $21.48 and I got $17 back in OYNO ($2 for the Kool-Aid, $10 for the Energizer, and $5 for the PG Products). Net cost $4.48 with a savings of $76.61!
Note: the $3/2 Gillette Shaving products coupon scanned in at $2.00, but cashier Judi caught the problem and fixed it for me (thanks, Judi!). If you’re buying the shave gel, watch for this!
Also that Pantene Hair spray is a great deal. The regular price is $5.69, and it’s on sale for $3.33. With the $3/2 Pantene coupon you’re paying $1.83 each, but mix it in with other PG products to get it for a song. Here’s what I did:
- Buy four Gillette men’s Shave Cream, $1.99 ea, for $7.96
- Buy seven Satin Care trial size, $1.00 ea, for $7.00
- Buy four Pantene Products, $3.33 ea, for $13.32
- Subtotal is $28.28
- Use four $3/2 Gillette Shave Cream and three $1/1 Gillette Shave Cream from the 8/11 RP
- Use two $3/2 Pantene from the 8/4 RP
- Pay $7.28 and get $5 OYNO
- Net cost: $2.28 for all or just 0.15 each!
Note there is also a $2/2 Pantene Products Printable coupon available if you don’t have the 8/4 insert coupons.
And I rolled that $17 in OYNO right into the Jumbo King Crab legs we’re having for dinner tonight. It’s nice to splurge once in a while, and working so hard to save makes it possible
